Mary
Big Thief 的〈Mary〉的歌詞很意識流，我又聽又讀了好幾遍，在腦袋裡慢慢詮釋出自己的畫面。
Mary
What did you tell me, Mary
When you were there, so sweet and very?
Full of field and stars, you carried all of time
Goin' heaven's when you looked at me
Your eyes were like machinery
Your hands were making artifacts in the corner of my mind
我很喜歡上面這一段，把回憶形容作「artifact」後，接著是一連串跳躍的意象：修道院的黑白色（Monastery monochrome）、充氣球的機器（Boom Ballon Machine）、婚戒（Diamond Rings）、水溝的骨骸（Gutter Bones）。
然後又緊接一段穿插畫面與感受描述的意識流歌詞：
With our aching planet, high and smiling / Cheap drink, dark and violet / Full of butterflies, the violent tenderness / The sweetest silence
編曲方面，我聽的主要是專輯跟 KEXP Live Sesssion 的版本。兩個版本的差異很大。
專輯的版本，只有合成器與鋼琴，像是在夢裡聽到遠方有輕輕的呢喃，想要接近那個聲音，但動作卻很遲緩，始終和聲音的來源隔了一層霧。
KEXP 現場版是雙吉他、Bass 和鼓的搖滾樂編制，起伏比較明顯。聽起來像是直接坐在舞台劇前排，能看見演員唸台詞時的表情，也更容易受到演員情緒波動的影響。
我最喜歡的一段改編，是 KEXP Live Session 2:30 的這個段落：
We overcome the sirens We look both left and right And I can feel the numbness Accompany my plight And I know, someday soon I'll see you But now you're out of sight And you'll kiss me Like you used to in the January night
吉他手 Buck Meek 的彈奏會跟著主旋律的音階跑，沙啞跟顫抖的吉他音色跟主唱 Adrianne Lenker 的聲音互相交織，聽感很有趣。
